Patti Gribow Student Scholarship

The Palm Springs Women in Film and Television Patti Gribow Student Scholarship was created to provide financial aid to a high school student in the field of filmmaking or a closely related field such as theater/drama, writing or entertainment. Only high school students are eligible to apply. The student is required to be enrolled in a high school in the Coachella Valley, and be in their senior year. Other areas of consideration are talent, academic excellence, and financial need. All applicants must submit a completed application, a work sample that showcases writing ability and/or talents related to the focus of this scholarship, and a transcript.

Post-Secondary Filmmakers Scholarship

The Palm Springs Women in Film and Television Post-Secondary Filmmakers Scholarship was created to provide financial aid and incentive to students of film and beginning filmmakers. The goal of the scholarship is to provide, encourage and support educational opportunities relating to film and to residents of the Coachella Valley who are enrolled in a post-secondary educational program related to filmmaking and the film industry. The purpose of the scholarship program is intended to support budding filmmakers and students of film.

The PSWIFT Scholarship Awards Selection Committee will consist of seven (7) members: Four (4) PSWIFT board members including the Scholarship Committee Chair and three (3) from PSWIFT’s Filmmakers Lab. The selection committee, as well as family members of the aforementioned, shall be ineligible for the scholarship award. 

Details on the requirements for each scholarship can be found on the applications, which can be downloaded at the links on this page. The recipient(s) of the awards will be announced and notified no later than April 12, 2024. Scholarship winners will be acknowledged during the PSWIFT Filmmakers Lab screening of the short film Exit Interview at Mary Pickford Theatre on May 1, 2024. Recipients are encouraged to attend for the presentation.
